Do I See an “F” in Marriage?

My husband and I are at an interesting place. We’ve been married for 11 years and we have three small children and A LOT of external factors surrounding us right now.

Some days we’re mushy eyed at each other and other days… uuuhhhhmmm… we’re simply not.

I know engaged and newly married couples don’t believe it… trust me. 🙂

Some days we can talk for hours and other days we’re in separate spaces. That’s reality folks.
In order to have a great marriage, we have to FIGHT for it. It won’t happen because we love each other. Nor will it happen because we’re good companions.
Every day, we have to FIGHT through any emotions, animosity, hurt, fatigue or simply sameness in order to keep our marriage alive.

Our emotions should never dictate how we treat each other. We have to live out the Bible in our marriage regardless of how we feeeeeeeeeeeeelllll at the moment.

I know it’s hard, but it’s a part of the fight!

Keep pressing…

When You Don’t Feel Like It

Most people who know me would describe me as a pretty loud, talkative, A-type personality. 🙂 However, believe it or not, I have my moments when I just don’t feel like doing ANYTHING.

Trust me when I tell you… anything means anything. With three small children under the age of seven, I’m not in a stage where I can really “take off” to do nothing.

So what do I do when I don’t feel up to the challenges of the day.  It’s simple: I do “it” anyway. Now, I may do “it” quieter and slower, but I always get “it” done.

WHY?

The world is moving and I’m not getting any younger… so my temporary slothfulness can’t get in the way of my purpose and passion. I’m actually ending this post now because… you guessed it… I didn’t feel like writing today, but I did “it” anyway!

The journey continues my friends! It continues…

Pray for me! 🙂

What do you DESIRE?

I used to think the word “desire” had a sexual connotation.

You know, the lipstick smeared collar or the gorgeous temptress sitting in the middle of a smoke-filled bar.

However, I’ve learned that the word desire is all about the intensity of your want for something or someone.

Do you desire a relationship with Christ on a deeper level?

Do you desire to be a great success in your endeavors?

Do you desire to be a better parent or spouse?

Even if you have the right knowledge base, you’ll never achieve your goals without intense desire for achievement.

So tell me, what do you DESIRE and what are you doing about it?

Staying Motivated

Recently I started thinking about you. YES YOU, my precious readers.

I asked the Lord to give me a heart to always know what you need in order to stay motivated in your faith. He simply impressed it upon my heart to keep you encouraged.

Therefore, I want to encourage you today to remain faithful in your walk with Christ, even when you’re in the dry times. I encourage you to stay committed to your spouse, even if they don’t deserve it some days. I encourage you to stay focused on your goals and dreams even if you want to give up and you feel like a failure. I encourage you to stay committed to growing even when you want to scream at the top of your lungs.

Please, please know that God’s word never fails.

NEVER.

He really loves you and it’s not His will for you to stay the same or regress back to what you used to be. Press on precious one. PRESS ON! I’m with you and I’m pressing right next to you…let’s do it together.

I love you and I praying for you.
