Just Let Go!

Taking care of things used to be my specialty.

I thought I had to do EVERYTHING in order for things to work out right.

I was an extremely controlling person. God delivered me from that spirit and I worked to grow and change.

Two years ago, I decided to simplify my life.  I began to let go of things that were insignificant.

When I released the controls, it gave God room to work in ways far greater than I could have imagined.  My life (and my family’s life) changed for the better.  If you have to be involved in everything, then ask God to help you let go. Let this beautiful song minister to you.

Favor and Finances

Hey… Where’s My Favor?

Whenever you hear a preacher mention “favor”, you can bet the crowd will give a big cheer. No one wants to hear about controlling the tongue, disciplining the flesh or studying the Bible. But just mention the word FAVOR and people jump out of their seats.

Why?

Favor is a topic that reminds us that the struggle is almost over. Favor means God will “work it out” some kind of way. People think FAVOR means you can just get blessed without any effort. You can live in sin, disobedience, strife, dissension, adultery, fear, doubt and discord, but you walk in the “fava’ of de Laud”.

Not exactly.

The bible says if you are willing and obedient you’ll eat the good of the land. God will bless you with FAVOR according to your obedience. That doesn’t mean you work for favor because favor is God’s unmerited grace upon your life. It doesn’t make sense for God to pour out favor and blessings on a lazy, lascivious, mean-spirited soul. His ultimate goal is our wholeness.

So the next time you hear the preacher yell FAVOR… go ahead and shout, but when the shouting is over, be sure to check yourself… selah!

Focused Praise and Worship

I used to get distracted during praise and worship in church.

I watched the ushers, the choir, the clothes, the couples, the “used to be” couples, the kids, the lighting, the everything… all while pretending to praise the Lord.

Several months ago, when God spoke to me about making a RADICAL change for Him, he encouraged me to keep my eyes closed during the praise service. Since that time, my life has not been the same. I challenge you to close your eyes during praise and worship service and focus only on God. You’ll be amazed at the results!

Subtle Disobedience to God

Photo: Es Versluis

Did you know subtle disobedience is worse than blatant rebellion?

Truthfully.

Subtle disobedience is like a dripping faucet that drips one drop at a time.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

The challenge is the faucet is stopped up, so eventually that slow drip turns into a complete mess. That’s the essence of subtle disobedience. Today I realized I was guilty of the “drip”. It wasn’t until I made some massive mistakes that it caused me to stop and consider what I was doing. Immediately, the Lord showed me where I had slowly begun to drift away from what He told me to do. It was painful, but I’m so grateful for his mercy and grace. I repented and made a decision to stop the subtle drip of disobedience, turn off the faucet and get it right.

Being on Fire!

“She’s on Fire!” is something Christians say from time to time. It usually describes a person who is absolutely stirred up for Jesus. And it shows.

Why is this term used mostly to describe new Christians?

Why don’t “seasoned saints” seem to be on fire after being saved for 10 or 20 years?

Here’s the four letter answer: LIFE

Life discourages us. Life drains us. Life leaves uslifeless. Yet, we still have a choice to live on fire for God. Don’t let “life” douse water on your fire. God isn’t finished with you yet. Even if you’ve been cold as ice for years… you can START OVER TODAY!!!

Simply remember where he brought you from and what you used to be.

That’s enough to get me shoutin’ already!!!!! THANK YA!!!!

🙂
