MIND RENEWAL:Day 12-From Good to Stumble

Can “good” things make you stumble?

Is it possible to stumble in the midst of doing what’s right?

I think so.

Today I received some great news about a project. For a moment, I began to drift off mentally into the “what ifs” about the project.

It’s not that I was thinking anything bad or negative or wrong. In fact, this project is GREAT!!! However, if I spent too much time thinking about it, then inevitably, the “what ifs”, would’ve turn into “what ain’t”, “why not” or my favorite “why me”…

So to keep in line with my current meditation in Psalm 119:165, I chose to focus on my great peace, regardless of whether the project comes to fruition or not.

I will do my part and allow the Lord to do the rest.

I trust Him enough to chew on His word more than anything else… even the good things.

Until next time…

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL: Day 11- Great Peace

Today I made a mistake on something simple.

I spoke about something that I shouldn’t have.

In the past, I would’ve really beat myself up about it.

However, not today. Today I began to meditate on my current scripture:

Psalm 119:165 Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

I didn’t get down about my mistake to the point of “stumbling”.

I repented. Made a mental note to be more careful and meditated on the Word.

It’s done.

No more self-condemnation.

Let’s keep pressing!

I love you and I’m praying for you!

MIND RENEWAL: DAY 11- Judging and Motes

Today I have continued to meditate on Psalm 119:165.

I’m preparing myself ahead of time because I have a few “growth opportunities” coming my way soon and I want to be prepared with a Godly heart and attitude when the heat is on.

As I think about this scripture and my “great peace”, I am reminded of my first radio blog entitled:

Are You Staring At Someone’s Mote?

This is a reminder of what God’s says about judging others. I’m taking the scriptures from this radio post and combining with Psalm 119:165. I’m guaranteed to have a renewed mind concerning my special situation real soon!

Enjoy the short radio post and let’s press on!

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL-DAY 10: The End in Mind

As I prepare for my 20-year high school reunion party tonight, I’m still meditating on Jeremiah 29:11. Today I read the New Living Translation that says:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Disaster. What an interesting word… but I completely get it.

If I didn’t renew my mind years ago, then my life would’ve been a disaster because I had a plan.

Today, I continue to purse the heart of God for my life, so my mind can stay totally free and open to hear Him.

It’ a journey… but I’m glad I’m on it.

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL: DAY 9- Going Back… to Destiny

Today I visited my former high school to kick off my 20-year reunion. As I pulled up to the school I began to reminisce about my days at George High School.  I was looking forward to seeing my classmates and teachers for the first time in many years.  I was also excited to reflect on where God has taken me.

I started thinking about Jeremiah 29:11:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Imagine that. Twenty years ago while running around campus, God already knew I would be sitting here writing this blog as a Christian woman.

He had it planned. Every step of the way!

So although, my plans, didn’t work out the way I wanted, His plans have been far, far greater for me.

I have no regrets.

The journey continues.

I love you and I’m praying for you.
