Is Your Mind Healthy?

For many years I lived with an unhealthy mind.

I know that’s a shock to people who know me, but it’s true. God delivered me from more than anyone will ever know. Having a healthy mind comes from spending time with God and bathing in His word. God’s word can change you. God’s presence can change you. Trust me, I know this first hand.

One of the reasons my mind was so unhealthy was because I allowed too many un-Godly influences in the culture to shape my thinking. In addition, I didn’t feed on God’s word enough. And When I fed on God’s word, I didn’t apply it to my life.

This has been a 28-year journey for me. In order to live with a healthy mind, I MUST CONFESS THE WORD EVERYDAY! Period. I can’t be lazy or average in my faith walk. If you struggle with an unhealthy mind, I encourage you to get before God and ask Him to give you the desire to be free!

Using Your Gifts for God

Many of you have seen this amazing short video featuring Tamara Lowe. While watching it again, I was amazed at her special gift. It reminded me of how God gives everyone a talent or gifting to be used for Him.

Question for you? What are you doing with your gift? Selah…

Are you in the silent years?

The Clock by Ivan Prole

The Silent Years.

What an interesting phrase. I’ve heard it before and yet I didn’t quite understand it until recently. In Luke Chapter 2, the Bible tells of Jesus’ birth and maturity. It’s interesting to note that although he was the Son of God, we didn’t hear much about his life from birth to age 12 and from age 12 to age 30. According to Luke 2:52, during that time he increased in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.

Imagine that.

The Son of God’s life was virtually silent for 30 years. What can we learn from that example?

Patience. God’s timing is God’s timing.

It’s not up to us to decide when “our moment” has arrived. Our job is to “grow in wisdom and stature” during those silent years. If we waste the silent years by lamenting about what we don’t have and who doesn’t notice us, then we’ll never experience the second part of the scripture, which is … favor with God and man.

After thinking about it, I have one word to say… sssshhhhhhhh.
