Are you in the will of God?

For a few years, I felt a little lost about God’s will for my life. I struggled with the obligation to “pay my bills” versus my true passion and purpose. So my days felt long and frustrating because I started following a course that God didn’t design for me. Eventually God’s precious Holy Spirit gently guided me back on course. My question for you is have you discovered God’s will for your life? Are you living in your purpose?

You see, life is too short to work to pay the light bills and mortgage. When God created you, he didn’t create you with a pay stub on his mind. He created you because he had a special assignment in mind with your name on it. When you wake up tomorrow morning, ask yourself the question: Am I moving closer to my divine assignment. If not, why?

I love you and I’m praying for you.

My Way or the Highway

I love this scripture from Proverbs 16:3: commit your way to the Lord and your plans will succeed.

Think about it.

We are not alone.

If we’re ever confused about the path God wants us to take, we can take our plans to God and he’ll direct us.

What happens when our plans don’t line up with God’s plan for our lives? I used to ask myself that question because I never wanted to be a Christian, nor get married, nor have kids, nor work in ministry.

I had a plan.

However, as I began to ‘work my plan’ things never worked out. The more I focused on getting closer and closer to the Lord, the more His plans for me became my delight and my desire. It was not an overnight process.

I gave up my way for God’s way and I have no regrets… what about you?

I’m praying for you!

Why Your Dreams Matter!

Dreaming photo by G Schouten de Jel

Be honest with me. Do you still dream?

We’re only a few months away from the end of 2011. Are you any closer to your dream than you were a year ago or two years ago or even five years ago?

I hope my questions don’t depress you.

In fact, I hope they help you think seriously about your goals and dreams. Just in case you didn’t know this, your dreams do matter to God. If God gave you a dream, then now is the time to go for it.

Don’t wait until the new year to “start fresh.” Start today by making a dream list and praying over it. If you don’t do this for YOUR dream, then no one else will.

Please know that your dreams do matter. That’s why God gave them to you.

I love you and I’m praying for you!

Accepting the people challenge

Jean Scheijen

I love people. They are, by far, God’s most interesting creations. My love for people is strange though. I love personality types and understanding them. Last year, I had an intense work relationship with a personality type that is opposite my own. The conflict led me to my prayer closet quite often.

God began to speak to me about using this bad situation as an opportunity to grow instead of belaboring how hard it was to work with this person. Therefore, I wrote a one-page confession using the person’s initials and said it every day for 10 months.

Around the 10th month, God completely delivered me from the situation and I rejoiced at my freedom. Here’s what’s interesting: I had memorized my positive confession about that co-worker so much, that by the time God removed me from the work relationship, it didn’t matter anymore. I no longer had bitterness in my heart towards her.

I was free, before God actually set me free. Hallelujah! Do you have any “people challenges?”
