MIND RENEWAL Day 48: REBLOG – Gotta Stay Close…

A few days ago I started thinking about drawing closer to God.

During my prayer time, I’ve dedicated my thought life to “loving” instead of “asking”.

Here’s a RE-BLOG on this topic entitled: Gotta Stay Close to Him .

I hope this helps you!

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL Day 46:Don’t fight people!

Spiritual Distraction… that’s an interesting phrase isn’t it. It’s a phrase I blurted out while talking with my husband about my blog feature on “people issues.”
You see, I realized a spiritual distraction is anything that can keep you from focusing your whole heart, soul, mind and strength on God.

People issues are a perfect example of spiritual distractions.

Think about it.

If you’re completely engaged and upset over a human being, then how can you be completely engaged with the all-knowing, supreme God of heaven and earth.

You simply can’t.
Don’t allow “people issues” to distract you from becoming a spiritual giant! It’s a trap!

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL Day 45: Oh People Part 2

It’s good to know God’s love is enough to soothe our offended and defensive souls. Tonight’s blog is on Blogtalk radio. I continue to talk about the scriptures that help me get past any people issues.

I love you and I’m praying for you.

What do you DESIRE?

I used to think the word “desire” had a sexual connotation.

You know, the lipstick smeared collar or the gorgeous temptress sitting in the middle of a smoke-filled bar.

However, I’ve learned that the word desire is all about the intensity of your want for something or someone.

Do you desire a relationship with Christ on a deeper level?

Do you desire to be a great success in your endeavors?

Do you desire to be a better parent or spouse?

Even if you have the right knowledge base, you’ll never achieve your goals without intense desire for achievement.

So tell me, what do you DESIRE and what are you doing about it?

The Brave and The Pitiful

As you may know I gave birth to my third child a few months ago. (In fact, she’s resting in my arms right now while I attempt to type.) Recently while she was crying, I simply sat on the floor exhausted, overwhelmed and tired. While she screamed I began to daydream about wearing a size six again, eating Louisiana Crunch cake and watching endless football with my feet propped up.

My simple daydreaming led me into a pity party. I felt tired, overweight and un-inspired. I wish I could say I quickly prayed and  felt better.  (Isn’t that how it’s supposed to work?)  I prayed but not until after I had about 20 vanilla wafers and a few cans of soda at 3am.

It was my pity food for my pitiful acting self.

 Pitiful. Pitiful. Pitiful.

As I sat on the couch, I began to laugh when I thought about you: my precious blog readers. What advice would I have given you? Would I tell you to drown your sorrows in 2000 grams of sugar and sob? No. I’d say be encouraged… be bold… fight through it and push!

Push through the emotional highs and lows, even when you’re sleep deprived.

Let’s do it together! The journey continues…
