My Way or the Highway

I love this scripture from Proverbs 16:3: commit your way to the Lord and your plans will succeed.

Think about it.

We are not alone.

If we’re ever confused about the path God wants us to take, we can take our plans to God and he’ll direct us.

What happens when our plans don’t line up with God’s plan for our lives? I used to ask myself that question because I never wanted to be a Christian, nor get married, nor have kids, nor work in ministry.

I had a plan.

However, as I began to ‘work my plan’ things never worked out. The more I focused on getting closer and closer to the Lord, the more His plans for me became my delight and my desire. It was not an overnight process.

I gave up my way for God’s way and I have no regrets… what about you?

I’m praying for you!

The Smell of Victory

Can you smell victory on the horizon?

Have you been down so long that you forgot what it feels like to smell or even taste victory?

I’ve been there.

Victory used to be my middle name. However, I hit a season of pure defeat, detriment and lack.

Well, glory be to God… that season of my life is over.

I encourage you to put away everything that’s holding you back and smell the sweet flavor of victory in the air. Jesus died for you to experience victory everyday, all the time.  GLORY!!!!!!

Can’t you smell your victory on the horizon? I can…

I’m praying for you and I love you!

What to do in the dry times?

If you know a Christian who says they don’t experience ‘dry times’, please send me their phone number.

Because dry times are a real part of a Christian’s walk. Recently I started feeling rather dry and empty, even though I prayed daily and read my bible, I just didn’t feel motivated to dig deep in seeking God. My bible felt heavy like a weight and prayer time felt burdensome.

So, what did I do?

I started taking baby steps each day.  See below.

1: Turn off the TV.

2: Turn on inspirational music.

3: Spend time thinking about what God has done for me.

4: Read one encouraging scripture repeatedly.

5: Pray and ask God for the desire to be in His Word.

I can’t guarantee you the steps will work for you, however, it’s a start…keep me posted!

I love you and I’m praying for you!

The Agony of Impatience

Do you love standing in long lines?

Do you prefer to be put on hold when calling a utility or cell phone company?

Well, if you’re like me, the patience game is something that God is perfecting in you too. Lately, I’ve been meditating on Hebrews 10:36 amplified that says I HAVE NEED OF PATIENCE AND ENDURANCE!!! Yikes… that’s tough… but the second part of the scripture says… SO THAT YOU MAY PERFORM AND ACCOMPLISH THE WILL OF GOD!!!

Now that’s what I like to hear.  I want to know that my pursuit of patience is working out God’s will for my life.  Every little spark of encouragement truly helps!!! I’m praying for your deliverance!

Waiting on the Harvest

My kids' little "harvest".

Recently I walked into my kitchen at 4:48a.m.

This picture shows the first thing I saw sitting in my window. It was my boys’ two grass “projects” in tiny pots. What was shocking is that overnight the grass grew so rapidly. It reminded me of the scripture in Galatians 6:9 that says, do not be weary in well doing because you will reap a harvest at the proper time, if you faint not. GLORY!

Overnight. And Suddenly.  In an instant my boys had a harvest of grass sprouting out of their pots. That’s how God works. Our job is to sow and water the seed and don’t grow faint.

We’re guaranteed a harvest… someday!
