Motherhood – Finding YOUR balance

Photo: Adam Davis

BELOW IS A BLOG POST THAT I WROTE 9 YEARS AGO!

MY OLDEST SON IS 15 NOW. I FOUND IT IN MY DRAFTS AND DECIDED TO SHARE IT NOW BECAUSE I THINK IT WAS MEANT TO BLESS SOMEONE TODAY.

After having my first child six  years ago, it rocked my world. Everything became a blur.

I vaguely remember a whirlwhind of pampers, doctor’s visits, sleepless nights, canned food, bottles, etc.

I actually stopped working a full-time job because I truly felt I was “called” to be a stay-at-home mom.

Ha! That was fun! 🙂

When that phase in my life didn’t work out, I returned to work when my son was 10-months old. I was convicted and confused about what I was SUPPOSED to do.

The Lord ministered to me so beautifully.  He showed me that I didn’t have to be like anyone else.

He called me to be me.

He wanted me to follow His leading on how to live a balanced life for my family and not focus on the “super moms” I saw around me.

Remember this: We can always look to others for inspiration but never for intimidation.

What’s your life balance? I hope you know it…

A Year of Moving Forward

Let’s try something different.

As you know, this time of year everyone is setting goals, looking forward, and making resolutions.

Well today’s blog is not about that.

I want to talk about finishing.

Finishing strong.

So let’s pretend it’s actually December 31st. I know it can be a stretch but it’ll be worth it. I won’t tell you this year will be easy. Nor will I tell you that if you set your goals and work hard, you’ll feel great on December 31st.

Here’s what I can tell you: YOU ARE NOT STUCK!

God loves you and because of His love for you, he designed you to win and succeed at whatever you put your mind to.

So when things get tough and you feel like giving up this year… remember to KEEP MOVING… Move. Move. Move.

More to come!

I love you and I believe in you.

Your Sister,

Kimyetta

Losing Weight… Again

I wish I could tell you I’m 100% happy with my appearance. I know I just had my third child and it “takes time to take the weight off”, but that doesn’t matter to me.  Especially when I look at the 17 extra pounds strapped to my mid-section.

Since this is a faith-based blog, I’m sure you know I’m praying and confessing for my ideal weight.

However, I can’t be too deep about the matter.

If I want to lose weight, then I MUST do a lot more than pray and confess scripture.

The bible says FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD. So even if I have all the faith in the world, it won’t matter if I don’t eat right and exercise.  I’ve got to back up my words with my actions.

Pray for me!

The Agony of Impatience

Do you love standing in long lines?

Do you prefer to be put on hold when calling a utility or cell phone company?

Well, if you’re like me, the patience game is something that God is perfecting in you too. Lately, I’ve been meditating on Hebrews 10:36 amplified that says I HAVE NEED OF PATIENCE AND ENDURANCE!!! Yikes… that’s tough… but the second part of the scripture says… SO THAT YOU MAY PERFORM AND ACCOMPLISH THE WILL OF GOD!!!

Now that’s what I like to hear.  I want to know that my pursuit of patience is working out God’s will for my life.  Every little spark of encouragement truly helps!!! I’m praying for your deliverance!

What do you see inside?

Last year I read a tremendous book entitled Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge. This amazing book was my introduction into their terrific ministry gifts. What a couple! What an anointing. What a great video!!

Enjoy!
