MIND RENEWAL Day33: How bad do you want it?

Unless you’ve been on another planet for the past two weeks, I’m sure you’ve heard the remarkable story of Gabby Douglas.

Gabby won the Olympic Gold Medal in the Women’s Gymnastics individual all around competition becoming the third American woman in history and first African-American to win the coveted title.

Watching Gabby with my kids and reading her amazing story has inspired me. She had such an intense hunger and desire to become a champion that she sacrificed her own comfort and familiar surroundings to achieve her unbelievable goal.

Shouldn’t we all be that way?

Shouldn’t we all want to achieve our goals so much that we give it everything we’ve got?

All day I’ve been asking myself those questions. I’ve been thinking about my compelling reasons and driving motivation for change.

Why do I want what I want?

Can’t I just rely on Matthew 7:7?

Maybe or maybe not.

Check out James 4:3 with me. I meditated on this earlier today… so much good stuff to come…

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL Day 30: Let Peace Rule!!

Have you ever struggled with a major decision? Do you ever wonder why you don’t get “the answer” you need, when you need it?

Well if you’re like me, you often need guidance and wisdom from the Lord. One of the great benefits of being a Christian, is we can rely on something very simple to aid us: PEACE.

When you’re not sure what God wants you to do, then allow peace in your heart to guide you.

I really love Isaiah 26:3 because God promised to not only give us peace but “keep” us in peace. So if you’re facing a major decision, follow the peace in your heart.

God doesn’t give you anxiety.

Don’t settle. Ever.

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL Day 29: The Valley of Decisions

Over the last few days my husband and I  had to make some serious decisions concerning our daughter’s care. For a moment, I felt a little anxiety because the enemy kept reminding me of poor decisions I’ve made in the past.

I was comforted when I thought about Psalm 32:8, which says God promised to instruct us and teach us in the way we should go. I also thought about a previous blog I wrote entitled “Making Good Decisions”.

Check it out and I hope it helps you.

No pressure. No anxiety. No worries.

We win.

MIND RENEWAL Day 28: Grateful Praise

I received great feedback about yesterday’s post on gratefulness. So much so, I decided to post one of my favorite songs from Pastor Hezekiah Walker… slow down… relax and listen to the words. Trust me, it will minister to you…

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL Day 27: Being Grateful

Tonight my four-year old son left his wet clothes all over the house. As I began to pick them up, I had an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness.

Instead of being upset that he didn’t follow my instructions, I began to think about how grateful I am to be a mom.

I’m grateful to have the extraordinary husband I have. I’m grateful to have three beautiful, healthy, smart children.  I’m grateful to have a really supportive and loving family. I’m grateful that my mother prayed my sister and I out of hell.

I’m simply grateful tonight.

God is good.

No matter what it looks like or what it feels like, God is still good.

So as we journey through our 365 days of renewing our minds, never lose hope if you’re not changing fast enough.

Take some time to appreciate who you are and what you have.

I love you and I’m praying for you.
