MIND RENEWAL: Day 2- The “D” Twins

Today two emotions surfaced along my journey to mind renewal: DISTRACTION and DISCOURAGEMENT.
Just when I thought I was flying high, the two dirty,  “D” words flew in and sat on my lap.

Here’s what’s great though… I stood up I and fought back.

WHY?

Because I’m renewing my mind to think like God thinks. Today I had DESTINY on my mind, so I couldn’t allow the “D” twins to hold me back… not this time and not anymore.  If you have brief moments that shake you, I encourage you to get your mind focused on where you’re headed and God’s great destiny for you.

Your tomorrow is so much brighter than your yesterday! Glory!

We press on!

I love you and I’m praying for you.

MIND RENEWAL: Day 1- Carrying Destiny!

Yesterday, I read this quote about Eve from the book of Genesis:

“Eve knew the emptiness, the anguish of remembering what she was designed to be without the possibility of becoming all she was meant to be.”

WOW! Scary, scary thought…

This is our starting point my friends… I’m beginning this journey of mind renewal with the end in mind.

Why renew my mind every day?

Because my DESTINY and the DESTINY of others is at stake.
Think about it… what do you want so badly that you’ll sacrifice selfish pleasures today, for God’s great destiny tomorrow?

More to come… I love you and I’m praying for you.

Loving My Nose, My Head, My Thighs…

I know the blog title is a little strange for some of you. But keep reading. It’ll make sense in a moment.

Recently, I celebrated my 37th birthday. So naturally I’ve been staring in the mirror a lot. I’ve always had issues with the size of my nose and my head and after three kids, my thighs and every other part close by. 🙂

Each time I walk past the mirror, I think about something I want to change. “If only my nose were a little smaller.”  Or “I wish I were a little taller.” One day, the Lord reminded me that when He created me, He had perfection on His mind.

Therefore, my physical appearance was not only pre-determined by Him but that He loves me…

He really, really loves me.

Glory.

Since that day, I don’t bemoan any part of my body anymore. I thank God for creating me and loving me, just the way I am.

I hope you do too.

I love you and I’m praying for you.

Making Good Decisions

Recently my husband and I talked about the bad decisions we made early on in life.

From leaving our jobs for an unprofitable business to purchasing a home we couldn’t afford to leasing a $30,000 car. (Yes, we actually leased a car and yes we had to turn it in after four years.)

He simply shook his head in disbelief as we recounted how far we’ve come over the years. We laughed at my tendency to be rather “deep” about things and his tendency to “go with the flow”. We’ve learned the hard way that making good decisions is very biblical and still very practical.

Jesus never called us to live a life contrary to His word. He called us to abide in His word, so His words would abide in us (John 15:7). So what does this mean when it comes to paying your bills? It means, if you have so much of God’s word in you, then God will ALWAYS lead you to make the right decisions… and his leading is never emotional. I repeat. God never leads us down an emotional road.

We do.

God is a God of practicality.

If 1 plus 1 doesn’t equal 2, then you should check the calculator you’re using. God will always add his super to our natural, but we’ve got to do our part. So if you’re in the middle of a making a major decision right now, then stop and think about the long-term impact and take your time to ensure you’re making the right decision.

Trust me. You’ll be so glad you did.

I love you and I’m praying for you.

A few months ago I watched this beautiful video featuring Pastor Sheryl Brady. The purity of the worship swept me away into my own private worship experience. Enjoy!
