MIND RENEWAL Day 25: The Idiocy of Habitual Sin

I’ve been thinking about my blog title for a few days and I wasn’t quite sure how I would approach this topic without feeling a sense of shame.

(SIDEBAR: It’s too much for me to write about in a blog. You got to read my book when it comes out someday . 🙂 )

Back to the story…

I remember a time when I was disappointed in myself. I was Sad. Mad. Hurt. Upset. Depressed. Dejected. Down. etc. etc.

In other words, I wasn’t Kimyetta… at all. I was living in habitual sin and I didn’t want to face it.

I started thinking about habitual sin in terms of stupidity. If you know what you know… then why do what you do?

Period.

In Romans 7:15, The Apostle Paul said, “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.”

Preach Paul Preach!

I realized something important.

Why keep going down the wrong street, when God has given you a detour.  God has provided a way of escape.

We are not bound or enslaved to anything. God has provided the door to freedom… now all WE have to do is walk through it.

It’s our choice.

We can live free.

Everyday.

Join me.

I love you and I’m praying for you!

Forever Real,

Kimyetta

Breaking Generational Curses (Part 1)

When people hear the term “generational curses” they start thinking spooky. However, that kind of thinking can keep you and your family in chains.

Here’s the simplest way to explain it: A generational curse is a repeated sin tendency that passed from one generation to the next.

My paternal family has a history of drug addiction and crime. It caused my dad his life at age 51 and it also caused me to be more susceptible to certain types of behaviours and patterns.

When I got saved, I made a decision to break the curse in my generation so my children would never be defeated by the sins or iniquity of family members that are long gone.  This is a serious topic. It’s not a cute Sunday School lesson.

Do you know your family history? Are you hurting your kids because you were hurt? Do you lie easily the way your mom did? Regardless of your situation, if you are a Believer, then according to John 8:36, God has set you free.

In a few days, I’ll post a great video from a dynamic woman of God who shares about this topic.  Tell your family and friends about it and get ready!
