MIND RENEWAL Day 26: Habitual Sin- Part II

Thanks for your responses to yesterday’s post about habitual sin. No matter how much we love God or how long we’ve been a Christian, we’re still susceptible to setups and set backs.

No one is immune.

No one is a super Christian alone.

The “super” in our lives is based on God’s power operating in us. However, we must activate that power by realizing our freedom from sin and defeat.

Bottom line: We win because He won it for us.

The battle to be free is not ours – it’s Gods.
He’s on our side.
All the time.

Pause and think about it.

I love you and I’m praying for you.

My Journey to Freedom

Recently I shared a small part of my “testimony” with close friends. I told the story in my usual joking tone, however, my story really isn’t funny at all. You see, I spent almost 30 years living in bondage that only God and my husband know about.

Sometimes my eyes well up with tears when I think about my journey to freedom in Christ.

I have to “walk out” my freedom everyday.

I don’t get a day off.

I wasn’t instantly delivered from my sin-filled habits. Therefore, its critical that I get before God in prayer EVERY DAY in order to MAINTAIN my freedom in Him.

It’s not easy, nor is it fun… but it sure is sweet to be FREE!!! THANK YAAAA! 🙂

I love you and praying for you.

Are You Protected?

Photo: Jakub Krechowicz

This morning when I turned on my computer, I read a notice from my virus software. It was a monthly report highlighting how many “threats” were made against my computer in the last 30 days. I also received a report of how my software actually detected and blocked an “intruder”.
Imagine that?

We’re in an age when our computers can actually fight for us. While I was sleeping, cooking, reading, writing or spending time with my family, my virus software was actually “working on my behalf”.  However, in order for the “protection software” to work, I had to purchase it and activate it.
When it comes to our walk with Christ, Jesus purchased the software through His shed blood.

Unfortunately, many of us fall prey to the “INTRUDER’S “ attacks on us without ever activating our software, which is the word of God.  Make a decision today to never let the enemy intrude and destroy you and your family. You have everything you need to fight. So fight!

The Warrior – Part II

Many people read last’s week blog about spiritual warfare and didn’t have the energy or enthusiasm to look up the scriptures yet.

Let me help you!

How bad do you want to win? How bad do you want to live in victory? I was so desperate to live in victory that I fought with everything. I walked through the grocery store saying scriptures and crying out to God for freedom under my breath. I taped together a Walkman (in 2009, no less) just so I could have the Word playing at all times.

I was hungry and I was desperate.  If you didn’t look up scriptures last week, then start small. Look up 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 and spend the next week meditating and memorizing it! It’s not a gigantic step, but at least you’re getting started.

I encourage you to take the first step.

Get your scriptures and enjoy this awesome song from Canton Jones!

The Warrior – Part I

Spiritual Warfare is not pretty. It’s just plain ugly. It involves a constant, consistent diet of God’s word. Christians have turned warfare into something spooky and scary. The scariest part about warfare is an anorexic spirit that doesn’t fight back.

Recently, I started meditating on God’s word in 2 Corinthian 10:4 that says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.”

God has given us a key clue in the battle. If we think we can win a spiritual battle with physical weapons, we’re already defeated. I spent YEARS in defeat because I didn’t take the time to learn God’s word concerning warfare. When you’re in the midst of battle, remember this: God has given you everything you need to fight.

Look up every warfare scripture you can find and say them daily.

You have a mighty weapon: the Word of God… now get ready to fight!
